The US Ban of Internet Casinos
US legislators in Washington have started a new bid to bring to an end overseas internet casinos websites which offer services to American internet users. The innovative bill being presented in the House of Representatives aims to broaden present laws which forbid interstate telephone gambling activities (such as phoning to a bookie in NY from KA).
The planned US legislation would forbid an online gambling business from taking credit cards, E-wire and E-money transfers, and would set a ceiling prison judgment of 5 years for violations of the new act.
Rick Boucher, a Democratic associate for Virginia said, "These internet casinos websites characteristically function offshore and over and over again supply as a major means of transportation for money laundering and other illegal enterprises." On the other hand the legislation, supported by the Democrats and the Republicans, might not pass due to a World Trade Organization recent decision which decalres that the US be required not to block internet casinos sites which are based overseas.
